Things to do in Cyprus

Cyprus is a great place for a holiday. Even in Winter the average temperature is a comfortable 60 to 70 degrees fahrenheit and an average of close to 6 hours of sunshine almost every day.

See our Weather page for more information.

This makes Cyprus great for outdoor sports - the sea is warm enough to swim in almost all year round, although I wouldn't recommend it from December to February.   For more information on sports, see our Sports page

Cyprus’ ancient sights are nothing special. However, the mosaics at Paphos and the ruins at Curium are well worth a visit.

There are many leisure activities to pursue in Cyprus, from sailing to scuba diving, fishing to horse riding.  There are links to some of these activities below, but if you want more information, then fill in our online form.

Cyprus is also a great base from which to visit Israel, the Lebanon or Egypt. There are
cruises to the Holy Land and Alexandria, or you can fly to Cairo to see the Pyramids, or Jordan for the spectacular site of Petra.  See our Travel page for more information.

You can now drive across the border in Nicosia and travel north to the lovely harbour at Kyrenia, taking in the spectacular views from the St Hilarion castle en route. (Please note, hire cars are not insured to cross the border!)

Agia Napa is fairly quiet in the Winter, but Paphos and Limassol are open for business 365 days a year.

The local Meze restaurants are great for large helpings of fish or meat. The pork chops are my favourite, and they're huge. There are also numerous Chinese, Japanese, Indian, Middle Eastern and other restaurants – Japanese particularly recommended.  See our Eating and Drinking page for more information

Most people speak reasonably good English so you’ll have no trouble making yourself understood, and they drive on the left hand side of the road, the same as in the UK. (The correct way to drive!)
